Rural LGBT+ Youth Initiative

Nearly a quarter million LGBT+ youth are either ejected or runaway from home every year. Many are from rural areas that have little or no resources for these youth. The Youth SafePoint Rural Initiative is a national program that offers shelter, transitional housing, assistance, supportive resources, and tangible help to LGBT+ youth, especially those in rural areas between the ages of 14 and 20 years of age who are or may soon be experiencing homelessness.
When our NCEI Field office locations aren’t available to rural LGBT+ youth, we enlist SafePoint Liaisons to work with organizations such as shelters, LGBT+ Centers, mental health providers, and ally religious organizations so that we may provide these services to our youth in need.

SafePoint CarePak Program

Our SafePoint CAREPAK program provides LGBT+ youth with clothing, food, daily living essentials, transportation, and critical mental health services.
